Running Scared™ is an after-dark 8km run contaminated with 20+ fear filled freaky obstacles including the popular House of Horrors maze. As you make your way through a challenging course, it's what lurks in the dark shadows that will get your adrenalin pumping. With over 100 live-scare actors trained, pumped and ready to provide a thrilling and unforgettable scare experience, Running Scared is a great night out with friends.

To enter Running Scared click here. You will be taken to the Running Scared registration page and from here you can select the wave start time. Each wave start has a limit of 360 people. The registration form is simple to follow and will step you through the process.
You have to be at least 12yrs of age to enter Running Scared. If you are aged between 12-17yrs you will be required to have a parent or guardian sign your waiver during check-in at the event.
The price to enter Running Scared varies and depends on when you enter the event. Prices range from $65 during the Limited Launch Special right through to $105 for an ‘On the night'. Tickets are available unless sold out prior. To view prices, including team discounts, click here.
Your entry fee includes a Running Scared head torch, race number, bandana, glow in the dark finisher’s medal and drink at the finish line. Plus you’ll have access to exclusive sponsor give-aways.
Yes you receive a 5% discount when entering 5 or more people. To receive this group discount you must enter and pay for all 5 or more people.
Yes you are able to change your run date and wave start time up until 29 October. Click here for information on how to do this.

Yes you may defer your registration until the following year. You can request a deferment up until Sunday 25 October. Please forward a copy of your ticket to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject heading 'defer entry until next year.
Yes we strongly recommend that you take out the Personal Accident Insurance that is being offered to all entrants for $10. Organisers of Running Scared are covered by their own Public Liability Insurance, however this does not extend to you as the participant. Personal Accident Insurance will be added to your registration, you can choose to opt out of taking this cover before finalising your entry. You can purchase a Running Scared t-shirt or singlet for an additional cost. Singlets and t-shirts will be available for pre-purchase soon.

When you arrive to the registration desk at the event you will be given your event pack which will include your head-torch & race number (to be worn at all times during your run) and your bandana. If you’ve ordered merchandise this will be available for you to collect when to checking in. You will receive your finisher’s medal, well, when you cross the finish line!

Running Scared is for all fitness levels. While we encourage people to undertake each obstacle it is not essential. People can also choose to walk the course – although we imagine there will be some parts that you’ll want to run – trust us!
There is no swimming in Running Scared, however you will be required to trudge, wade and crawl through liquid.

Running Scared makes use of visual and audio effects as well as smoke machines and pyrotechnics. It may not be suitable for people with a history of vertigo, epilepsy, seizures, claustrophobia, heart disorders and high blood pressure.
We are sorry but you cannot view the course before the event, but we can guarantee it will be super scary and fun! We will however be providing a course map in the online event pack that will be available to you one-week before the event.
Yes, the course has been designed with safety as a top priority. We have a professional build team and structural engineers to ensure all our obstacles are of a high standard.
Yes, the uniqueness of Running Scared is that it is only staged at night.
Actors may come close to you but they are trained not to touch any competitors.
Actors will not touch you and you are not allowed to touch them. You may be removed from the event if you do so and no refund will be given.
Under no circumstances are you allowed to touch Running Scared props. These props have been created after hours of hard work by our special effects team. If you are seen handling, stealing or destroying props you will be removed from the event and no refund will be given.
Good! That means we are doing our job and it’s money well spent for you. But seriously if you are truly scared and need to leave the course, advise the nearest event marshal and they will arrange for you to be transported back to the registration area.
We recommend you arrive 1 hour before your wave start time. This will give you time to walk to the registration area (approx. 10 minute walk), check-in and collect your event pack, drop off your gear at the cloak room, warm up and get ready to run!
Gates will open at 5pm on Saturday night.
There is currently no shuttle bus to the venue; however you can reach the venue by train to Penrith station and then by taxi (approx. 10 minute drive each way).
Yes there is a $10 parking charge per vehicle. We suggest people car pool to save money.

Wear clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting dirty, stained, wet and even torn. Don’t even think about wearing your fancy runners or the latest lycra, as they certainly won’t be crisp and clean once you’ve crossed the finish line. A fancy dress Running Scared™ themed costume is encouraged and there are spot prizes to be won for best dressed.
Bring along $10 for parking and some cash to buy food, drink, and merchandise and of course get your zombie make-up done. It’s a good idea to leave a change of clothes and some old towels in your car as well as a plastic bag to take your dirty clothes home in – trust me you will need it.
You can wear a hydration pack.
Yes there will be one water station located mid-way on the course. You will also be given a cold drink at the finish line.
Yes, you can wear a go-pro to capture your Running Scared experience for personal use only, however all we ask is that you share your experience with us at #RunningScaredOR

You will get wet! Running Scared™ will go ahead rain, hail or winds, however we reserve the right to cancel or postpone the event on the day in the case of dangerous weather or for any other reason.
If Running Scared™ has to be cancelled due to weather, natural disaster, acts of god, terrorism, war, zombie invasion or any other really bad occurrence deemed by us, the event will be re-scheduled. No refunds will be issued, however the credit will be transferred to the new event date.
In the unlikely event that Running Scared™ has to be cancelled or postponed you will be contacted by email and updates will be posted on the Running Scared™ website and Facebook page.

Sure - the rego zone will be cool with all sorts of stuff happening but remember Running Scared™ happens in the dark. Spectators will get a great view from the finish line but will not be allowed on the course.
Yes! We will be giving away prizes for the best dressed so wear your most outrageous costume (and one that you don't mind getting dirty!).
Yes – lots of yummy food will be available for purchase and getting being spooked will make you hungry.
Yes, we will have a professional special effects make –up team to make you look your deadset best! They will offer a range of make-up options to best suit your needs. Pricing packages will be released soon.
A cloakroom will be available for you to store your gear however leave any valuables at home and keep your gear to a minimium – aka dont pack the kitchen sink!. While all care will be taken please note Fully Rad Adventures Pty Ltd takes no responsibility for any items that may be lost or damaged in the cloakroom or on the course.
